Our mission is to help the diabetic community understand and monitor their diabetes by working with free clinics to help provide diabetic supplies for their patients that complete their education classes on diabetes maintenance.

My name is William (Bill) Walter Rierson and when I was 9 years old my dog was diagnosed with diabetes. This started my journey in learning about diabetes as I took care of my dog for the rest of his life and learned that some of my family members and others lived with diabetes every day. When I was 12 years old, I started helping at free medical clinics and attended the diabetes education classes that ended with supplying patients with a diabetes monitor and testing strips so they can measure their blood sugar levels. It was then that I researched and realized that there was a shortage of available monitors and testing strips or basic supplies for managing diabetes. This launched the Sugar Check Charity in which money and diabetic supplies were raised through fundraising and then given to free medical clinics that educated their patients on properly managing diabetes.
